Would anyone try turf or just look for a 10f race and maybe go through the allowance conditions first? He's still eligible for a nw1x and a nw2l so maybe that's the path I should be taking.

I'm just so damn desperate to get my first Graded winner.

he's faster at 8 than he is at 8.5 or 9 i'd back him up and let him sprint again. His debut at 7 furlongs was faster than his second race at 9 furlongs. sprint him 6 and if that doesn't work head for the turf. Or if you really want it to win let psyduck claim it from you that always seems to get squirrel's horses a win.

have to agree with cmd right down the line. it's time to experiment a bit. start with a dirt sprint. go turf 8ish if the horse doesnt immediately say he loves short stuff.

He's ranked 59 with 28 stakes pts. for the classic distance. Would 28 pts. be enough to get him in a derby lock race? I saw the Florida Derby out 4 weeks and the Arkansas & Corkscrew out 7 weeks maybe if he could hit the board in one or both of those it would be enough to go to the show? I have no clue
